The process of designing a product

A common idea people have is that the process of designing a product is to make something beautiful. This is only the tip of the iceberg.

It is about finding a new product development process or re-evaluating an existing solution while trying to understand the problems of future users.

As a result, a multi-step design strategy must be put in place:

Step 1: Needs recognition.

The first step is one of the most important. Indeed, it allows us to set up objectives to meet the needs of the consumer. It is therefore important to know their problems.

It is a question here of designing a convenient and practical product and for that it is essential to know the expectations of the future customers.

Step 2: brainstorming

This step is crucial and requires the application of brainstorming.

It is therefore for each member of the team to be involved which will allow to have more innovative and functional ideas.

The goal of this step is to solve the problems expressed in step 1.

Following this, a plan will be drafted which will allow to set up a product strategy. This is how the design phase can begin.

Step 3: Prototyping.

Once the product strategy is in place, prototypes can be created using software.

The objective here is to create something concrete and meticulous in order to begin the product testing phase.

This step is very important because it is at this time that potential risks upstream of the creation of the product are identified.

After testing the product and modifying your prototypes, it is time to design the product for market launch.
